NBL1 North Championship Winner Chevannah Paalvast returns for Thunder

Logan Basketball is excited to announce the return of 2021 NBL1 North Championship Winner Chevannah Paalvast who has re-signed with the Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women for the 2022 NBL1 North Season.

Chev returns following a successful 2021 campaign averaging 9.7 points per game , 4.7 rebounds per game and 2.2 assists per game in 2021, while leading the Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women to the inaugural NBL1 North Championship. Chev will play her third straight season for the Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women and brings a wealth of WNBL experience having previously played for the Bendigo Spirit, Canberra Capitals and Townsville Fire. Chev Is also an active member of the New Zealand Tall Ferns squad and recently competed in the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers following the NBL1 North Season.

‍Chev said the following about returning – “ I am most excited about the chance to defend our title and being around the culture at Logan Basketball”

“We need to make sure we are always progressing and improving. Making sure no one is complacent because of last year and instead pushing to be even better.”

“Obviously both massive losses (Mik Cann and Cassie Smith) as they both play key roles within our team. Cassie as our experience and rebounder and Mik her leadership and ability to create. But we have a lot of young girls that I’m sure will step up to the challenge of filling their shoes.”

Chevannah Paalvast joins Mikaela Ruef as the 2nd player announced for the 2022 Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women’s roster.
