Logan Basketball – Burbank Homes Junior Summer Club Season Update

Logan Basketball is pleased to announce a competition update ahead of the 2023 Junior Summer Club Season.

Jimboomba Amateur Basketball Association Partnership:

Logan Basketball has confirmed the next stage of the growth partnership between Jimboomba Amateur Basketball Association (JABA) and Logan Basketball Incorporated (LBI) which will see Jimboomba Jammers teams competing in the Logan Basketball Burbank Homes 2023 Junior Summer Club Season.

Logan Basketball has continued to deliver the McDonald’s Thunderball program and skill development programs at Jimboomba Basketball to assist with junior participation growth in the western corridor of the Logan region. A number of Jimboomba players have also represented Logan Thunder in Basketball Queensland’s South East Queensland Junior Basketball Competition. JABA’s participation growth (244 members and 22 teams) and development of junior players has progressed to where JABA will now enter teams into the LBI junior competition. With the focus of the partnership on helping JABA improve their domestic product as participation continues to grow.

LBI General Manager Mitch Young said “ Jimboomba Basketball is an organisation that understands the most important priority of a developing Association is to focus on junior domestic growth. We often see new Associations too heavily focused on representative basketball and not placing enough emphasis on building a base within their respective domestic competition. We are excited to continue to grow the partnership with JABA and help grow Basketball in West Logan.”

JABA president Jenny Bishop said “Exciting times ahead in partnership with Logan Thunder that will not only support our junior domestic growth but allow further participation of not only individual players, but team participation in the LBI competition. JABA’s primary function will always be to develop a domestic competition for players of all abilities that is accessible and affordable for our Community – and now establishing further pathways in partnership with Logan Thunder for representative basketball.”

Junior Fixtures played at the Mt. Warren Park Sports Centre for Summer 2023:

Following the growth of the LBI Junior Club Competition, Logan Basketball will be delivering fixtures across two venues for the Summer season – Bendigo Bank Cornubia Park Sports Centre and the Mt. Warren Park Sports Centre.
