Logan Basketball Statement:
On Monday July 13 the Courier Mail published an article that reported a Logan Basketball referee had been charged with a sexual misconduct offence. The referee was immediately stood down pending the outcome of the investigation.
Logan Basketball has not been contacted by the police and is not involved in the investigation.
Logan Basketball and all affiliated clubs are committed to providing a safe environment for our community to play, coach, referee, watch and participate in the game we love.
Logan Basketball does not condone inappropriate behaviour towards minors or any members and has in place measures to ensure as far as possible that such conduct does not occur. Logan Basketball operates under the Member Protection Policy located on the Logan Basketball website and abides by all regulatory requirements to ensure member safety.
Any form of abuse within our sport is unacceptable. Anyone who feels that they have been the victim of inappropriate behaviour should raise this with Logan Basketball Staff or Basketball Queensland so that the matter can be investigated and resolved.
