Cavs Basketball Club

Club Name: Logan Cavaliers Basketball Club Inc

Club Nickname: ‘Cavs Basketball Club’

Founded: 1998 (A foundation club of Logan Basketball Inc)

Club Colours: Red, Blue, White and Black

Club Summary:

Cavs Basketball Club was established by its current President Jim Kerr in October 1998 while he was a member of the steering committee of Logan Basketball. Fixtures for the club started at Insports in February 1999 and at that time Jennifer Mason was instrumental in registering players and forming teams to play under the Cav’s name.

The primary function of Cavs was to provide a structured avenue for players of all ages to actively participate in basketball and learn to play under a banner of fair play and sportsmanship whilst developing their skills. Cavs also provide the opportunity to coaches to develop their skills through sponsored courses and also encourage our teenage members to take up leadership roles. An example of this is through our junior club captains who actively assist in Saturday morning junior teams.

Training:

Young players are encouraged to participate in the Logan Basketball Inc Funtime skills clinics run out of Browns Plains on a Thursday and Shailer Park on a Friday afternoon before deciding to register with Cavs. Once registered with Cavs a weekly training time slot, usually an hour will be allocated to teams. Most teams attend training at 8am at Insports Cornubia prior to playing games. Under 16 upwards train at Kimberley Park State School court on Monday Night.

Our first contact point at the Club is through the Registrar Meryl Kerrison 0407 580 927
